Mrs. Tanner is responsible for the overall operations and management of the Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home and reports to the Board of Directors. She is the agency’s representative in maintaining the Home’s bylaws, mission, philosophy, budget, and policies and procedures as established by the Board of Directors. She is a licensed Child Placing Agency Administrator, certified as an advanced-level Child and Youth Care Professional, and holds a Texas Licensed Child Care Administrator’s credential.
Mrs. Tanner has a Bachelor of Science degree from Texas Tech University in Lubbock, Texas, and received a Master’s in Education from The Pennsylvania State University in State College, Pennsylvania. Mrs.Tanner has more than 30 years of experience working in youth education and has taught child development courses at the college level at Lamar University (Beaumont, Texas), and El Paso Community College.
Mrs. Tanner has worked as a child and family therapist, parent educator and trainer, administrator of social services, and in recreation, education, and early childhood programs since 1983. She has developed curriculum and programs for children, adults, and families with emphasis in family preservation, parental involvement, and preschool activities.
Mrs. Tanner has been with Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home for 20 years. Prior to serving as the Home’s Chief Executive Officer, she held the positions of Vice President and Chief Operating Officer, Director of Training and Development, and Director of Client/Social Services. Mrs. Tanner’s duties include the oversight of all agency service-delivery functions, community outreach/development, grant writing, fund development, licensing, business and finance functions, and continuous quality improvement efforts. She provides executive leadership, advocacy, and strategic planning efforts regarding all facets of agency operations.
Mrs. Tanner is integrally involved in the El Paso community. She currently serves as Vice President of the Advocacy Center for the Children of El Paso. She is a member of Leadership El Paso, the El Paso Downtown Rotary Club, and serves on the Education Committee of the El Paso Chamber of Commerce. She serves as an advisory board member of The Children’s Hospital at Providence.
