As we celebrate the season of gratitude, we want to give a BIG thank you to everyone who helped make our 19th Annual Operation Pumpkin a huge success. Adapting to the changes Covid-19 brings has challenged us all, and yet we were immensely blessed to have the support of our participating doctors, sponsors, donors, attendees, and auction bidders — and all for a good cause! ALL proceeds from our annual event directly benefit the children and families we serve and cover the cost of clothes for an entire year. With the wide range of kids we serve and their many growth spurts, this is extremely helpful!
Usually, our exciting event takes place at the Coronado Country Club, where people gather to watch well-known doctors and physicians carve pumpkins that are auctioned off at the end. Along with that, we have raffles, a silent auction and food and wine. After many virtual meetings and working with the El Paso Nonprofit Exchange, we did our best to bring the spirit of Operation Pumpkin to the virtual world.
Doctors carved their pumpkins at their offices and homes, and for the second time, our silent auction was available online. Generous donors allowed us to offer complimentary wine for the first 35 purchasers as well as raffle items and game prizes. Our silent auction had amazing items thanks to the incredible donors, from mostly small businesses to large philanthropic businesses.
In honor of all who made our event a success, let’s highlight them starting with our participating doctors:
