Residential Children’s Home | 13-Acre Campus | Life Skills Training
Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home provides basic residential 
care services for children on a 13-acre campus facility in central El Paso. Eight campus cottages offer a home-like environment for up to 70 boys and girls, age 5 to 18 (younger children are placed with foster parents). Each is staffed with a full-time cottage “parent” who is trained to work with children and oversees day-to-day home operations and works with children on life skills, including meal preparation, home chores, and activities. Children who live at the Home have access to a fully equipped gymnasium, learning center, library, playground, and beautifully landscaped grounds. Children receive guidance and support from caring, trained adults who they can trust.
All children and youth who come to live at Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home do so voluntarily. The parents and/or legal conservators remain legally responsible for their children and visit them regularly while they are in care. Parents and conservators are expected to participate actively in all plans for their children, including the timing and plan to return home. The average length of stay for a child is approximately 24 months. Most remain at the home through a full school year; some may remain at the home through high school graduation.
Children Attend El Paso Public Schools While Staying at Our Home
Children attend local public schools, area churches, and are actively involved in local community life. Some teenage children have jobs in the community. Family visits are scheduled for every other weekend and on holidays, if the child can return home. Otherwise, supervised visits can be arranged at the home. Children are encouraged to participate in extracurricular school activities, recreational opportunities, counseling, and tutorial programs. Once a child is released from care, after-care services and support are available through Lee & Beulah Moor Children’s Home.
